Letter from Our Founder

Welcome Family!

As the founder of SMPL, I wanted to take a moment to share a bit of our journey and thank you for being a part of our story.

When I became a mom for the first time, I was overwhelmed—in the best and most challenging ways. Like many parents, I wanted to give my baby the best start in life. When it came to baby-led weaning, I realized how hard it was to find utensils that checked all the boxes: safe, practical, high-quality, and aligned with the minimalist aesthetic I loved. Most of what I found was overcomplicated, made with low-grade materials, or just didn’t feel right for my son.

So, I set out to create what I couldn’t find—a collection of baby eating utensils that were thoughtfully designed for real parents, like me, juggling real-life moments. After lots of trial and error (and plenty of messy mealtime adventures), I finally landed on designs that my son and I loved—utensils that supported our baby-led weaning journey while fitting seamlessly into our lives.

That’s how SMPL was born: from a mother’s love, determination, and a vision to create something better for caregivers and their little ones. Every piece in the collection reflects what matters most to me: safety, simplicity, practicality, and lasting quality.

But the real joy of this journey has been sharing SMPL with you. Seeing how our products have become a part of your family’s milestones, from first bites to independent mealtimes, is truly humbling. Your trust and support mean everything to me, and I am endlessly grateful for this community of parents who value thoughtful design and intentional living as much as I do.

    Our entire collection is made of 100% food grade silicone, a non-toxic polymer that can withstand both low and high temperatures without releasing hazardous chemicals – unlike plastics, which can contaminate food in these environments. Our collection, which includes flexible rubbery material and curved edges is also less likely to result in injuries that can result from the use of hard materials such as metal, glass and wood.
